Kineara Pathways Employment Project

A new employment support service with 1:1 support, workshops and tailored advice

If you are facing housing insecurity, poverty and isolation, barriers like gaps in experience, limited digital access, language needs or a lack of confidence can make employment feel out of reach, and without stable work it becomes harder to move out of crisis.

The Employment Pathways Project aims to address the interconnected vulnerabilities surrounding homelessness by creating a structured employment support offer for Kineara clients. The project will help individuals overcome barriers to work, improve their employability and progress towards sustainable employment, training or other appropriate career pathways.

Support Provided

The service will combine 1:1 employment support, workshops and partnership referrals, with support tailored to each person’s needs and goals.

Depending on the individual, support may include:

  • help with CVs, cover letters and job applications
  • job searching and identifying suitable vacancies
  • interview preparation and employability skills
  • Support with digital skills and access to online job-search tools
  • training, qualifications, ESOL and skills development
  • find work experience, volunteering and apprenticeship opportunities
  • identify and address practical barriers to employment
  • support with confidence, wellbeing and job-readiness
  • help to move into employment and to sustain it

The project builds on Kineara’s commitment to holistic, wrap around support that is available and accessible to people facing multiple or complex vulnerabilities. It is designed to sit alongside our existing housing services, so that clients can access employment support as part of Kineara’s wider support offer.

Private Facebook Group: Temporary Accommodation Support & Advice

The private Facebook group, the London T.A. Hub, is open to individuals and families who would like to receive information, guidance and support on temporary accommodation in London. The group is a welcoming and supportive community, with opportunities to share personal experiences, ask and answer questions, and form relationships with one another. The group moderators are Kineara practitioners and volunteers. To join the private group, click on the link below, answer three eligibility questions, and agree to a set of group rules. Applications to join are then reviewed by group administrators.
