Housing Services

Kineara’s housing support prevents homelessness by supporting people to sustain tenancies and avoid eviction

Being ‘housing insecure’ can be a source of enormous stress in our lives, and often, it is more than one thing that can lead us into a situation of insecurity.

We provide housing support for households with multi-complex needs using intensive, systemic and holistic interventions. We deliver a programmes with housing providers, local authorities and private landlords that specialise in supporting households to settle into long term housing, avoid eviction, manage rent arrears, and move towards sustainable tenancies.

Without Sandra and my housing officer, I don't know what I would have done. Their work has helped me, and now I'd like to look into helping others who have been through similar situations.

Resettling is a housing intervention that tackles homelessness by supporting people into long term and sustainable housing.

ReSettling is a support intervention that we designed to deliver for and with people who are facing homelessness, or are living in temporary accommodation, with the aim of supporting people into sustainable and independent housing.

The  programme was also designed to enable people who have been in institutions and need support to be resettled back in the community and a home. We work with housing providers to secure affordable and suitable homes,

while providing intensive, holistic practical and wellbeing support as people take steps towards secure housing once again.

ReSettling aims to tackle the crisis in temporary accommodation and homelessness by integrating support and housing provision into one programme. We believe that crucial support to vulnerable people at the right time makes a big difference in people’s ability to manage a tenancy long term. It also aims to reconnect people with their community and local services, increase wellbeing and health, find employment opportunities or financial support, and support people on a path to secure housing.

We are currently delivering ReSettling for Opening Doors, a project supporting people out of temporary accommodation and into long term housing in Bexley.

Rent Support Programme Plus is an intensive support intervention for private sector tenants threatened with evictions, delivered in partnership with local authorities.

We work in partnership with local authorities to develop a referral route for vulnerable tenants in the private sector whose require additional support to avoid rent arrears and potential eviction. It is for people with complex needs whose housing challenges require more complex solutions.

This includes providing legal advice, addressing insecure work opportunities, drug and alcohol misuse, mental or physical health needs, whole family support, wellbeing, and landlord mediation.

We’re currently delivering this service as a Covid Private Renters Project with Southwark Council and Southwark Law Centre, with funding and development support Guys’ and St Thomas’ Charity. The project will support vulnerable private sector tenants in Southwark who have been threatened with eviction during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The RSP is designed to offer housing providers an alternative to the financial and social costs of eviction.

We work with tenants with multi-complex, offering intensive one-to-one support over 10 weeks. We have had huge success preventing evictions and recovering rent arrears,

by supporting households to address root causes of their challenges and building capacity for overcoming barriers. Not only that, our unique services include finding educational, employment and training opportunities; supporting residents’ issues with drugs and alcohol; uncovering and accessing support for mental health and learning disabilities, among many other things.

Having someone who's willing to help and guide you, with everything else you have going on. It was just a comfort knowing that I could call Liz and ask her questions.

Reframe is a tenancy sustainment programme that aims to improve wellbeing and improve housing security.

Reframe is a mid-length intensive programme that is for anyone facing challenges that may be putting their tenancy at risk. It is a holistic programme delivered with housing providers for residents who require intensive support, are usually vulnerable, and whose

tenancy is at risk. We work with households for three to six months, offering key worker-led practical and therapeutic support tailored to the needs of each individual and their household.

Reframe aims to increase wellbeing, confidence and remove barriers to accessing more support from services and the local community, facilitating greater independence for those we work with.
